ViewSight
See which products get noticed, and which ones sell.

Overview
ViewSight counts every product page view and can show that count to shoppers, styled to match the theme. Merchants choose all views or unique visitors, all time or the last 24 hours, and can hide the counter until a product passes a threshold.
It also adds a Most Viewed Products section that keeps itself up to date, and an analytics view with views, visitors, add-to-carts and units sold for every product, by day.
Problem and idea
The problem
Merchants can see what sells, but not what gets looked at and then left. Those products are often the easiest wins: the interest is there, something else is getting in the way.
The idea
Make attention visible twice: to shoppers, as gentle social proof, and to merchants, as a simple way to find products with lots of views and few sales.
My role
I design, build and maintain it: the product decisions, the interface, the frontend and backend, releases, and the support inbox afterwards.

Technical notes
- Counting at storefront scale
- Every product page view is an event. They need to be recorded cheaply, deduplicated for unique visitors, and rolled up by day.
- Honest numbers
- Merchants can exclude their own visits so the counts reflect real shoppers.
